Your new job

You will work closely with citizens in their daily lives to support and promote independent living.

Your tasks will include care, lifting, medication management, household work, activities, social documentation, and case management - always with the individual's participation in focus. You will provide support to a citizen with the aim of achieving personal development and stimulation, where you plan, motivate, activate, and clarify various moments of daily life. To make this manageable, we adapt the work and operations according to individual needs. There may be challenging or outwardly aggressive behavior or self-harm that we handle with low-arousal responses and clarifying pedagogy.

As a support educator, you are responsible for supporting, guiding, and developing the workgroup within the pedagogical framework. You plan, follow up, and develop the work together with your colleagues, and provide support for work plans, documentation, and implementation plans. Communication and collaboration occur in the work with relatives, colleagues, supervisors, as well as healthcare, schools/day services, authorities, and property technicians. Together, you identify and create conditions for individual development and motivation for the individual.

Your qualifications

• You are a qualified support educator: a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities with a pedagogical focus, comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 HP. Alternatively, you have other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Examples of YH programs in the field include Support Educator, Activation Educator, Social Educator, and Treatment Educator.
• You have experience in the field of disabilities, pedagogical work, or care work, or similar work that the employer assesses as relevant.
• It is an advantage if you have worked with individuals with autism, neuropsychiatric, or intellectual disabilities.
• Desirable to have experience working with clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, TAKK, or GAKK.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension is required for handling documentation, information gathering, and communication, as well as good computer skills.
• You have good physical mobility as the work can be physically demanding.
• A B driver's license is an advantage for the position.

You have a drive to contribute to development and change processes where you stand by your knowledge and the working methods that are fundamental within the organization. You are self-assured and remain calm in pressured situations. It is important that you are attentive, quality-conscious, and collaborate well with others. Your personal maturity and pedagogical insight allow you to understand and meet others based on their perspectives and conditions.

Within the LSS housing area, we have group homes with individual adaptations for children, youth, and adults with various disabilities. Here, the individual can stay in an environment with the presence of a staff group around them that creates security, continuity, and structure. The goal is to promote personal abilities and create as rich and qualitative an everyday life as possible - always considering personal integrity.

Group Home Dunkehalla is located in a beautiful and harmonious environment that provides good conditions for a calm existence while the operation is close to the city district. Nearby, we have a city bus for those commuting and for taking the citizen out. Here, four citizens will live, and the entire workgroup consists of about 20 employees. We look forward to new colleagues who share our desire to work according to the intentions of the legislation and values!

Good to know

The recruitment concerns permanent positions with immediate start or by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening/night/weekend. We always offer a 100% employment rate and work with co-planning where collaboration and work occur between the operations.
